Jenn NewhartJenn Newhart

This is my eighth year in Transition. I have four children who are all alumni of WHCCNS. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from California Baptist University and completed my ECE Credits from Cerro Coso College. We have such an exciting year planned and I am grateful to be working alongside such wonderful and capable teachers.

Maribel Gonzalez

I’m excited to be starting my second year here at WHCCNS, and to be with Miss Jenn and Miss Jennie in Transition. I can’t wait to come into the classroom every day and for the new experiences.

Jennie Curry

I’m so excited to be starting my third year at WHCCNS. Working with Miss Jenn and Miss Maribel is a dream! After many years working as a Director at Tocaloma Day Camp, nannying, and being a ‘mom’ to my stepson, I love coming into a classroom every day. I feel so lucky!

3 Year Old Program

Lee Jackson (Group 1 Teacher)

This is my 14th year at WHCCNS. I am a USC graduate and studied Child Development at Santa Monica and Pierce Colleges. I have 2 boys, Trent (19) and Trevor (16). They both attended the Nursery School here. I am so excited for a great year with your wonderful children!

Carroll Flores (Group 1 Teacher)

This is my first year at WHCCNS. After 15 years of hotel design, I gave it all up to be a full-time mommy which entailed volunteering 5 days a week at my children’s elementary school. It didn’t take long for me to realize my true passion: teaching! With one Mud Pie under my belt, I know I have made the right decision. I am looking forward to a great year with your amazing children.

Katy Bugenhagen (Group 1 Teacher)

I am very excited to join WHCCNS after working this summer during Mud Pie. I am a graduate of Medaille College and have taught dancing to children for the past 14 years. I look forward to all the wonderful activities and fun in this upcoming year.

Taylor Bongiovi (Group 2 Teacher)

This is my third year working at the Nursery School. I am a graduate of the WHCCNS, class of 2002, and now attend Moorpark College majoring in English. I am excited for the upcoming year and the fun it will bring!

I am so happy to be a Group 3 teacher again this year. I have worked at the Nursery School for 14 years. I studied Child Development at CSUN, and have taught in a variety of schools, preschool through high school. Preschool is my favorite age to work with because every day is a new, exciting and fun-filled day! I am looking forward to a wonderful school year.

Jen Conway (Group 3 Teacher)

I am a mom of two boys, ages 6 and 3. My older son is in Kindergarten and my younger son attends the Nursery School. I was a member of the school board, and now I’m happy to be working in Group 3. We moved to Woodland Hills about 3 years ago and I’m so thankful to have found this wonderful school!

Retta Mefford (Group 3 Teacher)

Kerry Bublitz (Group 4 Teacher)

I’ve been a teacher at the nursery school for 26 years and a lead teacher in the Pre-K class for the last 18 years.

We have some great units we study throughout the year including our starting units on the ocean, shapes and colors, and on nutrition and healthy bodies. We’ll also explore the alphabet’s beginning sounds starting in January. The children especially love the units on space, dinosaurs and artists.

I look forward to a fun year getting to know your children and seeing them grow throughout the year into confident 5-year-olds ready to take on life!

Nicole Oswalt  (Group 4 Teacher)

This is my thirteenth year teaching at WHCCNS. I have two sons. Cole is in his first year of college and Garrett is a junior at Agoura High School. We are also raising my fiances’ granddaughter who will be starting in Transition in November. I am looking forward to teaching in the four-year-old room.

Joanna SalasJoanna Salas (Group 4 Teacher)

I am excited to start my fifth year at WHCCNS. I have been working with preschool aged children for thirteen years and I love it! I have a BA from CSUN and 30 units of child development, and I continue to learn more as the years go on. When I’m not working you’ll find me spending time with family and going to Disneyland.

I can’t wait to meet your children and really get to know them. Let’s have a great year!

Cynthia Polanco

I have worked at the school for 17 years and with almost every teacher and age group. I truly enjoy working with all age groups. This year I will continue to be in and out of every classroom because I will be the Floater. I will also be working in the ASP program every day and will be doing arts and crafts with the children. I am excited to be with the kids and hope this year will be a good one for everyone.
